In order to update STB from System settings via a USB:

Step 1: Make sure that your USB drive matches the requirements.

Step 2: Download the required SW image file (imageupdate).

Note. Latest version of Factory SW image is accessible on manufacturer's server: https://update.infomir.com/mag/<model>/imageupdate (<model> - number of STB model).
For example, for MAG322: https://update.infomir.com/mag/322/imageupdate

Step 3: Create directory mag<model> in the root of the USB drive and write "imageupdate" file to this directory.
For instance, for the MAG322 directory name: mag322

Step 4: Connect prepared USB-drive to STB. You can use any USB connector of STB: both rear or front.

Step 5: Open Settings ⇒ System settings ⇒ Software update.

Step 6: In Software update window set Update method = USB. You can see two new strings:

• Disk - name of USB-drive;
• Path - Path to update file on the USB-drive.

Step 7: Select Verify (OK) to make sure that STB can detect "imageupdate" file.

Step 8: If the file is detected and readable successfully you'll see Software Update window.

Step 9: In the Software Update window displays descriptions of the firmware versions: the Current version (operating in STB) and New version (available on a USB drive).

Step 10: Select subsequent operation after comparing Current and New versions:

• To reject update push Exit.
• To start update push Update (F1).

Step 11: The status of the software update is displayed by the progress bar and comments. To view the log of update user may push Show log (Info on RC).

Step 12: Wait until the update process is complete. After completing the update, the STB automatically reboots.

Note. Do not turn off STB and plug off USB drive until the end of the update.

Korak 11: Status ažuriranja softvera prikazuje se trakom napretka i komentarima. Za pregled dnevnika ažuriranja korisnik može pritisnuti Show log (Info on RC).

Korak 12: Sačekajte dok se proces ažuriranja ne završi. Nakon završetka ažuriranja, STB se automatski ponovo pokreće.

Bilješka. Nemojte isključivati STB i isključivati USB disk do kraja ažuriranja.

Please be aware that these are "custom" images.

They are provided to enable Gen customers to circumvent the block placed by Infomir on Mags which have the latest updates. Once correctly installed you will be able to view content from Gen. You will not be able to edit portals. Appearance of interface will be different from what you are used to, but will work.
I strongly suggest that before you install custom image, that you add two extra portals - these do not need to work or need to be used and can just be copies of existing ones. You will then be able to edit these in future if needed. If you don't install these "spare" portals there will be no option to edit the working portals in custom image.
If you think you will want to edit portals etc in the future then you need to use older "official" firmware instead. - If you are a reseller you can find this in the "Resellers Only" area of the forum. If you are a customer then please ask your reseller to provide it for you.

The above files can be difficult to remove
If you have installed them to remove:
SSH to the box and remove the custom url hider. Use Putty or terminal)

1. ssh -2 [email protected].*.* (box IP address)

3. fw_setenv custom_url_hider=false
4. reboot
5. Then flash firmware found bellow

I recommend using the following images These will preserve portal settings, but disable the block and prevents any remote updates from Infomir's servers. If you have already used previous custom firmware or installed any other "anti_block settings" then remove all settings to which you have access before trying to install this Better is to install original Infomir software first again by allowing updates and allowing them to complete. This software will fix block later.

Some mag models will not have the Bootstrap included as a separate 'file' in that folder. That's OK, just ensure you transfer the correct folder onto USB device.
MAG254 and earlier can be picky about which sticks they recognize, youmay need to try a few - Don't use USB3.0 sticks. Don't use sticks larger than 2Gb
To ensure the installation works please install from the recovery area of Mag (hold down menu button during reboot) - Put files on usb (FAT32) in folder named mag*** -(*** is your Magbox number e.g.mag256) - Reset to default first then use usb to downgrade.

Preporučujem korištenje sljedećih slika. One će sačuvati postavke portala, ali onemogućiti blokiranje i spriječiti bilo kakva udaljena ažuriranja sa Infomirovih servera. Ako ste već koristili prethodni prilagođeni firmver ili instalirali bilo koje druge "anti_block postavke", tada uklonite sve postavke kojima imate pristup prije nego pokušate instalirati ovo. The guaranteed fix is to re-flash your box from here: https://wiki.infomir.eu/eng/set-top-box/stb-linux-webkit/stb-software (don’t use the latest version) then turn off auto update and re-enter your info.

Info on how-to is also here. Make sure you select the correct version for your box. If you have a problem, use a NEW USB stick. (FAT32 rear port on box) Make sure you make folder Mag ***

An alternate fix is to use a VPN router.

Whatever you do – make sure you tell all your clients to turn off auto-updates ASAP.

Also before re-flashing make sure that the problem you are experiencing is the Infomir’s blockage. Re-flashing won’t fix random problems like the wrong portal or incorrectly entered MAC, etc.

There are a couple of other things which you may have seen mentioned which may work depending on the software version and which Mag you are using. I’m leaving them out here because they are a bit hit and miss.

Before you continue, don’t forget to disable automatic update in the Embedded Portal:

1. Load Embedded Portal

2. Select Settings

3. Select Software autoupdate

4. In Autoupdate select “Disabled”

5. Press OK to save the changes.

Downgrade imageupdate:

1. Connect prepared USB-drive to STB.

2. Then enter the System Recovery Utility menu:

a. Power off STB (unplug the power supply).

b. Push and hold Menu button on RC and power STB on (still holding Menu button, plug in power supply).

c. Wait for ~10 seconds ? System Recovery Utility menu.

Release Menu button.

Note: the Menu button on the RC is located on the left hand side below the down button and above the Vol+ button. The one with the 3 lines and 3 dots.

3. Select Upgrade Tools ? Upgrade Software ? Using USB ? Yes; and select your file.

4. Wait until the update process is complete. The info about software update status is displayed at the bottom of screen.

When the software is updated the STB will automatically reboot.

Prije nego što nastavite, ne zaboravite onemogućiti automatsko ažuriranje na ugrađenom portalu:

2. Odaberite Postavke

4. U automatskom ažuriranju odaberite “Onemogućeno”

5. Pritisnite OK da sačuvate promene.

Downgrade ažuriranje slike:

1. Povežite pripremljeni USB disk na STB.

2. Zatim uđite u meni System Recovery Utility:

a. Isključite STB (isključite napajanje).

b. Pritisnite i držite dugme Menu na RC-u i uključen STB (i dalje držite dugme Menu, priključite napajanje).

c. Sačekati ~10 sekundi? Meni uslužnog programa za oporavak sistema.

Otpustite dugme Meni.

Napomena: Dugme Menu na RC-u se nalazi sa leve strane ispod dugmeta za dole i iznad dugmeta Vol+. Onaj sa 3 linije i 3 tačke.

3. Odaberite Alati za nadogradnju? Nadogradnja softvera? Korišćenje USB-a? Da; i odaberite svoju datoteku.

4. Sačekajte dok se proces ažuriranja ne završi. Informacije o statusu ažuriranja softvera prikazane su na dnu ekrana.

Kada se softver ažurira, STB će se automatski ponovo pokrenuti.
